The Department of Orthopaedics at VMU is well-equipped to perform all types of orthopaedic surgeries and manage various types of orthopaedic injuries. The number and nature of operations performed are many. The department has the latest orthopaedic surgical and non-surgical equipment along with a portable x-ray unit. Open reductions and fracture management are performed routinely.
The Department of Orthopaedics & Traumatology is full-fledged with modern equipment to perform anthroscopy, total hip, total knee and shoulder replacements, limb lengthening procedures like illizarov, limb reconstruction system (LRS) and interlocking nail for all major bone fractures. The department also performs specialised services like childhood foot deformity correction besides rehabilitation, physiotherapy and weight reduction.
